Mount Christopherson

Mount Christopherson on the Dorrigo Plateau

SunriseMount Christopherson is our 300 acre property just 19 km from Dorrigo in Bellingen Shire on the North Coast of NSW.

At an altitude of 1007 metres we look across rainforest and farmland towards Dorrigo.  Temperatures are usually at least six degrees cooler than the Coffs Coast or Bellingen, so it’s a great escape from the summer heat.  And we have glorious days up here during winter, since the sun hits the mountain early,  warming it up after any overnight frost.  It doesn’t rain so much during the winter months .

The 8 acres of magnificent gardens and 200 acres of rainforest inhabited by unique local flora and fauna, offer a glorious retreat for writers, photographers or painters.  The earth energy is just perfect for spiritual retreats and meditation, or to simply get away from the world and transform yourself, being so close to nature.  You will be sure to find greater clarity on difficult issues, and see everything in a new perspective.

Facilities

Garden Views - WisteriaThere is a beautiful garden amphitheatre which is perfect for small ceremonies, and a little yurt has been built to provide a peaceful space for meditation.
Or you might prefer the photo opportunities at the Folly or the Pond.
A long flat croquet lawn would provide a perfect space for a marquee.
The 15 metre swimming pool is a good spot to cool off after an energetic walk.
Birdwatchers can make use of our high quality Nikon spotting scope.

Activities

We are in the centre of the most wonderfully diverse Dorrigo Plateau with its World Heritage listed national park, giant tallowoods and Australian cedars.  Nearby is the Nymboida River with its white water rafting, and the Coffs Coast with its beaches.  Don’t miss a visit to the World’s Smallest Motorcycle Museum while you are in Dorrigo.

You’ll find walks, waterfalls and picnic spots to take your breath away, and the mountain air is cool and clear all year round.
